Sophie's Story
Sophie founded Sophie Cooney Runners in 2019 after struggling to find a stair runner that combined beauty and character for her West London home. With an artistic background, she set about designing her own unique runner.
Today, as Founder and Creative Director, Sophie focuses on what she loves most: designing bold, contemporary runners that transform staircases worldwide. Working with skilled artisan weavers in Turkey and India, she brings together exceptional craftsmanship, premium materials, and striking designs that have made Sophie Cooney Runners a world leader in quality stair runners.

Every Sophie Cooney stair runner is design-led, handwoven to order and made to the exact measurements of its staircase. Each one begins with premium, ethically sourced fibre and ends with a meticulous hand finish. The result is a runner of exceptional quality, built to withstand the daily demands of the stairs.
We weave in three fibres, each with its own character:
Luxury Amulet Wool: our most durable weave. A tightly woven, high-quality wool flat weave, designed specifically to last generations on the stairs.
Practical Raw Cotton: hardwearing and robust, with a denim-like touch and bright, vivid colour.
Rustic Jute: a rougher texture for a more rustic, natural look.
