Sophie Cooney Runners is the original creator of contemporary, Kilim inspired flatweaves for stairs – bringing together unique designs and outstanding craftsmanship to create the finest handwoven runners. Employing a growing team of highly skilled artisans in Turkey and India, it produces collections that are instantly recognisable by their quality weave, bold colour combinations and striking designs. Sophie Cooney Runners have been transforming hallways worldwide since 2014.
Sophie founded Sophie Cooney Runners in 2014 after struggling to find stair runners that combined beauty and inspiration for her own home. Spotting a gap in the market, she transformed her vision into a thriving business that is now a world leader in quality stair runners. Over the years, Sophie has juggled multiple roles – operations, design, logistics – but now focuses on what she loves most: creativity. Her dedication to craftsmanship and design shapes the heart of the brand.

SALES & MARKETING MANAGER
The go-to for all things runners, Daisy manages client consultations, creative campaigns, and partnerships, all while adding a little ‘je ne sais quoi’ to our storytelling. Often found in the showroom with a warm smile, she’s passionate about helping clients find the perfect design to transform their staircases.
When she’s not working her magic, Daisy loves exploring new cities with a coffee in hand, always on the lookout for her next big idea.

FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR
The mastermind behind the runners, Sophie juggles design, sourcing, and keeping Ruby (the showroom dog) in line, all while ensuring the heart of the brand stays true to her creative vision.
When she’s not dreaming up new designs, Sophie loves escaping to the mountains for fresh inspiration or unwinding with her boys over a game of Warhammer – strategy and creativity rolled into one!

OPERATIONS MANAGER
Helen is the perfectionist behind the scenes, ensuring every bespoke runner is flawless before it reaches your home. With a background in textile design, she manages logistics and quality control, making sure every detail is just right.
When she’s not working, Helen loves getting hands-on with lino printing, blending tradition and creativity to make unique designs.

Inga is the friendly face at the heart of the Sophie Cooney Runners experience, guiding clients through the showroom and helping them choose designs that turn staircases into masterpieces. Her expertise and passion for interiors ensure every detail is perfect, from start to finish.
In her spare time, Inga transforms old furniture with her amazing upholstery skills, bringing tired chairs back to life!

Ruby, the showroom superstar, is always ready to strike a pose for photos, greet customers with a wagging tail, and happily accept her favourite treat– a peanut butter cookie – after a hard day’s work.

RYAN ISAAC
DESIGNER
Ryan brings his passion for art and creativity to every project, working closely with Sophie to craft bold and polished designs that reflect the brand’s identity. A graduate of the prestigious Slade School of Fine Art, Ryan’s career spans graphic design, fine art, and even NFT creation.
When he’s not designing, he’s cooking up a storm, reminiscing about skiing at 70+mph, or thinking up his next artistic venture – he’s even sold paintings to Steven Bartlett!
